رهاسازی حق‌آبه هورالعظیم

هورالعظیم امروز بیش از هر زمان دیگری به تصمیم و اقدام فوری دولت نیاز دارد. ما امضاکنندگان این کارزار، از جنابعالی درخواست می‌کنیم دستور رهاسازی فوری و پایدار حق‌آبه این تالاب ارزشمند را صادر کنید.

هورالعظیم زیستگاه گونه‌های ارزشمندی مانند سمور آبی ماکسول، مأمن پرندگان و آبزیان و محل تأمین معاش هزاران خانواده تالاب‌نشین است که زندگی خود را از طریق دامپروری، به‌ویژه پرورش گاومیش، می‌گذرانند.

تداوم کم‌آبی و خشک شدن بخش‌هایی از هورالعظیم، علاوه بر نابودی تنوع زیستی، به گسترش گردوغبار با منشأ تالابی، تشدید بحران‌های زیست‌محیطی و تهدید سلامت مردم خوزستان و استان‌های همجوار می‌انجامد.

از جنابعالی انتظار داریم با تأمین و رهاسازی حق‌آبه هورالعظیم، از این میراث طبیعی ملی، معیشت مردم و حق نسل‌های آینده برای بهره‌مندی از محیط‌زیستی سالم پاسداری کنید.

Today, more than ever, the Mesopotamian Marshes need urgent government action and decision. We, the signatories of this campaign, urge you to issue an order for the immediate and sustainable release of the water rights of this valuable wetland.

The Mesopotamian Marshes are home to valuable species such as Maxwell's otter (Lutrogale perspicillata maxwelli). They are a haven for birds and aquatic animals, and a source of livelihood for thousands of wetland-dwelling families who make their living exclusively from these ecosystems.

The continued water shortage and drying up of parts of the Marshes, in addition to destroying biodiversity, will lead to the spread of dust originating from the wetlands, intensifying environmental crises, and threatening the health of the people that live in all surrounding areas.

We expect you to protect this national natural heritage, the livelihood of the people, and the right of future generations to benefit from a healthy environment by securing and releasing the water rights of the Great Hur al-Azim
